our design principles

1. Regenerative materials for activewear purposes
We carefully select our materials to be regenerative and suitable for activewear. We continue our efforts to test and apply new materials with lower impact or improved comfort. The regenerative materials we are currently using are plant-based.

2. Design for longevity
We design our clothes to last through focusing on [1] the quality of the fabric, [2] source of the fabric, [3] design for comfort, [4] quality control of the garments. [1] We work with premium fabric that is made from long fibres that do not easily break. [2] We work with fabrics made from natural resources that prevent the garment from smelling as it is the case with fossil-fuel based synthetic clothing; to reduce the number of washing cycles and extend the garment's lifetime. [3] Our garments are designed to be comfortable for the skin so you want to take care of them ;) [4] We work with European suppliers that are conducting thorough quality control and we apply our regular check to ensure garment quality.

3. Design for recycling
When designing for longevity we keep in mind the end of life of the garment. We focus on two main elements [1] usage of elastane and [2] number of different materials. The usage of elastane has a significant negative impact in the recycling of textiles and especially in the activewear sector as most garments contain a high percentage of estane. Elastane is used to create a stretchable fabric. We aim to achieve a similar stretch through our garment design. Moreover, the more complex the design is in the number of different materials, the more complex and energy intensive the recycling process is. We aim to use a little of different materials as possible and this is where there is sometimes a conflict with design for comfort and longevity. We are aware of, and aim to be transparent about this challenge.
